Monastic Liturgy and Times
Prayer is the center of life for our community. We gather three
times daily in our chapel for the Liturgy of the Hours, so named
because the prayer celebrates the holiness of the hours of the day.
The Rule of Benedict called this prayer the Work of God, because
it is our main work for God and it also acknowledges God at work
in us. The basic structure of the Liturgy of the Hours includes hymns,
psalms, readings from Scripture, and prayers. The psalms were the
prayers of the ancestors of Jesus, and were his own prayers, as well
as the central prayers of his followers down to our day.
For monastic communities, the daily celebration of the Eucharist
is also central to our spiritual life. The Eucharist provides the
spiritual nourishment needed to serve one another and the needs of
the world. The Sisters also spend time each day in personal prayer
and devotions such as rosary, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament,
novenas, and stations of the cross.
Guests are always welcome at the Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours.
If you would like the sisters to pray for your special intentions,
please call us at 701-974-2121, or click on the “Prayer Request” button
